Offensive explosion earns Hinz Petes player of week honour
Brady Hinz was named the Peterborough Petes player of the week for the week ending Nov.
10.
This season the Petes honour one of their own and local minor hockey players with player-of-the-week awards.
Hinz scored the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 5-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs at the PMC on Nov.
5. He followed up with a threepoint performance on Nov. 8 when the Maroon and White visited Kingston. His two goals and assist on the game winner earned him the OHL’s Third Star of the Night.
The Peterborough Minor Hockey Council Player of the Week is Joseph Hulsman, described as a skilled defenceman who always carries his positive attitude on and off the ice. His smile is contagious on the Atom AAA Petes team while his teammates and coaches say he’s a pleasure to be around.
The Peterborough Hockey Association Player of the Week is Liam Cook. He has shown strong leadership skills for his Minor Peewee AE Petes team. His eagerness to learn and work hard hasn’t gone unnoticed as the defensive forward continues to excel this season.
The Peterborough Girls Hockey Association Player of the Week is Payton Prentice. She has been a persistent force for the Atom A Ice Kats. She works hard on the ice and sets an example for her teammates. She shone off the ice when celebrating her 10th birthday with a skating party for her friends, family and teammates that raised $1,225.75 for the PRHC Mombassadors program which funds life-saving equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The Petes welcome coaches, volunteers, parents and other spectators to nominate deserving local minor hockey athletes. Award winners receive tickets to a Petes home game and a certificate.

Chad Denault returned to the lineup Saturday night in Barrie and John Parker-Jones slid back to defence with Artem Guryev returned to the Lindsay Muskies after two games with the Petes.
