The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents Christmas Fantasia on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Showplace Performance Centre, 290 George St. This year’s holiday concert also features 60 members of the Toronto Children’s Chorus and New Zealand-born baritone Bradley Christensen.

The program, which features both classical and pop-style music, is family-friendly and has many seasonal favourites, including Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite,” Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols,” John Debney’s suite from the movie “Elf,” Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and David Willcocks’ “Christmas Carols.” The Toronto Children’s Chorus will perform a cappella selections and the concert closes with a traditional audience carol singalong.

Michael Newnham, PSO music director and conductor, says that “audiences will be delighted to hear Brad’s ringing baritone in this program.” He adds that the Toronto Children’s Chorus is “undoubtedly the flagship children’s chorus in all of Canada, and it is a great honour to have them here to join us on stage for this concert.”
