Police took another call shortly after about a man damaging a sign and bothering customers at another downtown restaurant, and found the suspect walking on George Street. The man allegedly resisted arrested and assaulted the officers who stopped him. Allain Bernard, 33, of Brinton Drive was charged with assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, uttering threats to cause death, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with probation. He was released and will appear in court Sept. 8.
