Four new COVID-19 cases in Peterborough
Four new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Peterborough city and county, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation were reported Tuesday afternoon by Peterborough Public Health.
One case has also been resolved, resulting in nine active cases.
There have now been 162 cumulative confirmed cases, with 151 resolved and two earlier deaths. There have been 50 new cases since Sept. 25.
Active cases include man in his 20s, three women in their 20s, a man in his 30s, a man in his 60s, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 90s, according to Public Health Ontario. The health unit is also monitoring10 people who are at high risk from close contact with a confirmed case.
The jurisdiction has now had 109.6 cumulative confirmed cases per 100,000 people, less than one fifth of the provincial rate of 619.4 cases per 100,000 people as of Tuesday. There have now been 35,150 residents, or about 23.8 per cent, who have been tested at least once for the virus, the health unit also reported Tuesday.
There is one outbreak, at Fairhaven long-term-care home, declared Oct. 31after a caregiver for a resident tested positive. A resident at Fairhaven, a woman in her 90s, has since also tested positive.

Peterborough is in the green zone under the provincial government’s new colour-coded rating system for areas of the province that went into effect on Saturday.
The City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County and Haliburton County are also in the green zone, but Durham Region was moved to the yellow zone on Tuesday with enhanced protective measures to limit the spread of the virus.
New case in Northumberland County
A new confirmed COVID -19 case in Northumberland County was reported Tuesday afternoon by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit.
It’s the 262nd cumulative case for the jurisdiction since the pandemic began in March, with four active cases as of Tuesday.
There have been 188 cases in the City of Kawartha Lakes (with one active), 52 in Northumberland (with two active) and 22 in Haliburton County (with one active).
The health unit is also currently monitoring 12 people in Northumberland County, nine in the City of Kawartha Lakes and three in Haliburton County who are at high risk because of close contact with a confirmed case.
