City surveying local residents on home energy efficiency
The City of Peterborough is establishing a home energy efficiency program (HEEP) and is looking for public input from both homeowners and those who live in rental properties in Peterborough. A survey has been posted online and is available until May 9.
The HEEP, part of the city’s climate action plan, will target energy inefficiency in residential buildings. For more information, visit connectptbo.ca/homeenergy.
Hutchison House
In honour of the release of the movie “Downton Abbey: The New Era,” Hutchison House Museum is hosting a luncheon Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. This ploughman’s luncheon might have been served to the staff of Downton Abbey and includes ham, Cornish pasties, cheese, rustic bread, chutney, pickled onions, boiled eggs and apple crisp with custard.

Concert for Ukraine
A group of 28 local amateur musicians is hosting a community concert to raise funds for humanitarian aid for Ukraine. The concert takes place Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St. Admission is by donation and the Salvation Army will be present to collect the donations.
The group is conducted by Tak Kwan, from the Toronto area, and will be performing a variety of classical and movie-themed pieces. Free parking is available at the front of the church, off Hunter Street and behind the church, off Brock Street.
Bonachords and Jubilaires
The Bonachords, a local men’s choir, and the Jubilaires, a local women’s choir, present a joint musical concert, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Murray Street Baptist Church. The concert, titled “Song Salad with ’60s Salt,” features songs from the past.

Mad Hatter’s Lunch
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church is hosting a Mad Hatter’s Lunch on May 7. Orders must be placed in advance and pick-up is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from the church at The Mount Community Centre, 1545 Monaghan Road.
Lunch orders are $12 per meal and include an option of sandwich, plus pickles, carrot and celery sticks, and an assortment of desserts. Glutenfree meals are available. Orders will be accepted until May 4 and can be placed online at stpaulspeterborough.ca or by contacting Bruce at bruce.mills3@gmail.com or 705745-5254. Twenty-five per cent of proceeds will be donated to Crossroads and Cameron House.
