A Place Called Home welcomes new executive director
There’s a new leader at the helm of Kawartha Lake’s homelessness agency.
Angela Ricciuti has been appointed by A Place Called Home’s board of directors as its executive director. Ricciuti takes over from David Tilley, who left his post as chief operating officer in November to take a housing officer position with Newfoundland and Labrador Housing.
Ricciuti comes to the Lindsaybased agency from Community Living Toronto, a leading agency serving adults with intellectual disabilities.
She brings with her a wealth of experience in the field of social services, particularly in the domain of residential supports and housing.
With a bachelor of arts in psychology from York University, she has committed to improving service delivery and advocating for individuals with disabilities.
Motivated by principles of community inclusion and the valued social roles that every citizen has in their communities, Ricciuti has a passion for social justice within a framework of person-centred service delivery.
Her extensive experience, from program development to recruitment and management, showcases a comprehensive understanding of the social services landscape.
Ricciuti is the third executive director in the three-decade history of A Place Called Home. Lorrie Polito, who retired in August 2020, led the organization for its first 25 years.
Ricciuti begins her new role next week and looks forward to working with the community and the agency to create places called home in the midst of homelessness.
A Place Called Home serves individuals and families struggling with homelessness through shelter services, rooming house rentals and transitional housing.
