The annual awards are selected by global organization Women of Influence+ and honourees will be celebrated during the Top 25 Women of Influence Luncheon on April 9, in Toronto.

The awards program is aimed at recognizing the achievements of women who have made significant contributions in their respective fields, driving meaningful progress and change in business and society.

“It feels incredible; I’m in fantastic company. The lifetime achievement award is going to the CEO of Plan International Canada (Lindsay Glassco) and I don’t even have words for how much I admire her work and what she’s done for women and gender diverse folks,” Clark said.

“I think that being amongst such incredible talent is really humbling. I feel really honoured and really proud of where I am.”

Clark is currently the national manager of mental health for Game Plan, Canada’s total athlete wellness program for 1,800 Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Prior to this, she worked as the director of health for the Native Women’s Association of Canada, representing over 900 000 Indigenous women, girls, two-spirit, transgender, and gender diverse people in Canada.

“That was probably my most impactful time. I even got to go into the Arctic and meet some folks up there in fly-in communities and understand how racism impacts their oral health care,” she said. “I feel really honored to have been able to do that.”

Additionally, Clark is also a board

director for Central Toronto Youth Services and works as a member of the Service Excellence and Quality Assurance Committee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team.

“I see incredible youth that come through there,” she said.

At only 30, Clark credits her early success to her parents and several community figures growing up, including her seventh-grade teacher, Linda Murney, and her coach at the Lindsay Skating Club, Marg Hadley.

“And then, Mr. Milner was my Grade 12 English teacher, and he told me I could write and that my writing was really passionate and impactful. I think about that every time I write something,” she said.

“I think without him telling me that I would have thought I was really bad at writing, and I don’t think my career would have taken me down this path.”
