Lakers will open season starting on road
All but one of Peterborough’s six home games will be on Thursday nights at 8 p.m.
The Peterborough Century 21 Lakers home opener will take place Thursday, June 13, against the Brooklin Lacrosse Club at the Memorial Centre.
Major Series Lacrosse released its 2024 schedule on Tuesday. It includes 12 Lakers games starting with two on the road June 3 against the Oakville Rock and June 6 versus the Brampton Excelsiors.
All but one of the Lakers’ six home games will be on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. The Lakers have a rare Tuesday home game on June 25 against the Owen Sound North Stars. They will play twice at home that week, also suiting up on their regular Thursday evening, June 27, versus the Six Nations Chiefs.
Other home games include June 20 against Oakville, July 4 versus the Cobourg Kodiaks and July 11 against Brampton.
Other road games include June 16 in Cobourg, June 22 at Owen Sound, July 3 versus Brooklin and July 9 against Six Nations.
The MSL readjusted its playoff format this year, meaning that playoffs begin mid-July instead of the first week of August. Playoffs will consist of three rounds.
The first round of playoffs will be a best-of-five series. First place earns a bye, while second plays seventh, third meets sixth and fourth faces fifth. The semifinals and final will continue to be best-of-seven series.
The MSL champion will host the 2024 Mann Cup. The Chiefs won the 2023 Mann Cup ending the Lakers’ historic streak of four consecutive Mann Cup titles.
Lakers season tickets are on sale now at the Peterborough Memorial Centre box office and online at memorialcentre.ca.
For existing season ticket holders, the renewal deadline is May 9 at 5 p.m. After this time, any seats that have not been renewed will be released to the general public and open to the exchange of seats by other season ticket holders or new buyers.
Ticket exchange day will occur on May 15, according to a Lakers news release.
Season ticket packages will include a total of eight games (all six regular season home games plus the first two home playoff games). Tickets for the first two playoff games cannot be exchanged.
Season ticket holders now have the option of receiving digital tickets by email, but may also still pick up printed tickets like previous years.
Season ticket prices are Adult — Regular Bowl $150, Club $186; Senior 65+ — Regular Bowl $126, Club $162; Student — Regular Bowl $110, Club $146; Child — Regular Bowl $62, Club $98.
Single-game tickets will go on sale at a later date.
