Grand Indoor Yard Sale returns at Artisans Centre Peterborough
Funds raised from event will support variety of ongoing creative community programs
The Grand Indoor Yard Sale, a fundraiser for the Artisans Centre Peterborough (ACP), returns to Peterborough Square on Saturday, taking place in the atrium 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funds raised will support ongoing community programs offered by the ACP, a not-for-profit community organization operated by volunteers.
The sale promises an eclectic mix of items gathered by centre members, including craft-related supplies, an array of previously loved or barely used household and garden items, many of which fall into the retro category.
Purchasers will be asked to donate what the value of the item is to them.
The ACP offers a variety of classes to the public for those who would like to learn to make things by hand. The classes are held in a relaxed, fun atmosphere with a small number of participants so that instructors can provide attention as needed. ACP provides all the supplies and has the equipment for people to learn a new craft skill.
Come out and browse at the sale. Weather won’t be a problem and parking is free on Saturdays.
For information, call the Artisans Centre Peterborough at 705-7751797.

Erin’s House fundraising party
A fundraising kitchen party for “Erin’s House” is happening Friday, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Peterborough Lions Centre, 347 Burnham St.
One City Peterborough has purchased a four-bedroom home to house people coming out of homelessness. The house will be called The Erin Sullivan House, in memory of Erin Sullivan, an active downtown volunteer, who sadly died of cystic fibrosis in 1922.
More than half the purchase price has been raised, and now Friends of Erin are organizing this fundraiser to raise the remainder of the mortgage funds.
Megan Murphy will host the event that will include music by Kate Brioux, Paul Crough, Melissa Payne and Kate Suhr. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction.
One City Peterborough is a nonprofit charitable organization that operates on “the belief that everyone belongs and it is together that we flourish.” They focus on supporting those who have experienced homelessness and/or criminalization toward their full inclusion into the community.
Tickets for the fundraiser cost $25 and can be reserved in advance by sending an e-transfer to joannerowland@gmail.com.
