Legend Car Series is ready to roll
Season kicks off May 11 with the first Peterborough Speedway race May 18
The name has changed, but fans will still see the same brand of motorsports excitement when the 2024 schedule for the Ontario Legend Car Series takes the green flag.
With longtime provincial Legend Car official and former competitor Robin Jongen at the helm, racers and car owners alike are looking forward to this year’s lid lifter. It has been a busy time of action behind the scenes and Jongen says the team he’s assembled will be set to put a fresh face on the Legend Car racing brand.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Kevin Foisy for providing me with the opportunity to run a series I love and to keep expanding on my ideas,” explained Jongen. “Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about Legends Racing and can’t wait to get the ball rolling. I’ve been working with our track partners to put together a schedule that will excite every Legends Racer in the province.”
As in seasons past, the first year of the Ontario Legend Car Series will see the group showcased as part of regular-season dates at several area ovals, including Sunset Speedway — north of Toronto — on a handful of occasions and six shows at Peterborough Speedway, including the 31st running of the APC Autumn Colours Classic.
The group will also partner with the Great Lakes Legends for dates at Full Throttle, Sauble and Flamboro Speedways, as well as one of the Sunset dates and Autumn Colours at Peterborough.
