Rankings for 2024 NHL Entry Draft

Peterborou­gh Petes forward Bray- don McCallum’s strong rookie sea- son earned him a spot on NHL Cen- tral Scouting’s final rankings for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. McCallum debuted on the rankings at 208 among North American skaters. He scored 18 goals and added 23 assists to finish third in Petes scoring with 41 points in 62 games while leading the OHL in penalty minutes with 128. Meanwhile, Port Hope resident Dalyn Wakely, of Curve Lake First Nation, who was passed over in his initial draft year, is ranked 116. He broke out this season with 49 goals and 65 assists for 104 points in 66 games for the North Bay Battalion. Two Petes alumni are also among the rankings. Mississaug­a Steel- heads forward Jack Van Volsen, dealt last year in the Owen Beck trade, is rated 164. He had 20 goals and 32 points in 63 games this sea- son. Forward Sam McCue, dealt in January to the Owen Sound Attack, is rated 178. He had 23 goals and 14 assists for 37 points in 68 games split between the Petes and Attack. They are among 57 OHL players rated for the draft scheduled to take place June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nev. The list, which in- cludes a total of 149 CHL players, features eight OHL skaters includ- ed in the top-32 North American prospects, indicating a potential first-round selection. A pair of de- fencemen lead the way with Zayne Parekh of the Saginaw Spirit and Sam Dickinson of the London Knights at fifth and seventh respec- tively, followed by the OHL’s high- est-ranked forward in Beckett Sen- necke of the Oshawa Generals at 13 and Liam Greentree of the Wind- sor Spitfires at 14. In goal, Carter George of the Owen Sound Attack is the second-ranked North Amer- ican netminder followed by Lan- don Miller of the Soo Greyhounds coming in at six.
