Tebey Golf Classic to support mental health sold out
Sponsorship opportunities are still available
The GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation, has announced that the annual Tebey Golf Classic, presented by Bell Let’s Talk and Pure Country 105, that takes place Thursday, May 30 at Wildfire Golf Club, has sold out.
All funds raised support youth mental health programming through Peterborough Youth Services and YES Shelter for Youth and Families.
“We are incredibly grateful to all of our golfers for making this a soldout tournament for its third year in a row,” said Vince Bierworth, executive director, GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation.
Although the event is sold out, there is a wait list and there are also other ways that you can participate. Sponsorship opportunities are still available and items for the silent auction would also be appreciated.
“We have a great group of sponsors. If businesses or organizations would like to sponsor the tournament, make a financial donation or a silent auction donation, all supporting youth mental health in the Peterborough area, please email me at Vince@GPHSF.ca,” said Bierworth.
Tebey, who will be giving an outdoor acoustic performance at the tournament, is a platinum-selling artist, award-winning producer and accomplished songwriter with multiple No. 1 songs in his repertoire of hits. A resident of Nashville, he grew up in Peterborough and went to high school in Burlington. His passion outside of music is supporting charities advocating for mental health.
“I’m really looking forward to getting home for our annual golf fundraiser with GPSHF, Your Family Health Team Foundation,” said Tebey. “As someone who has expressed my own challenges with mental health well-being over the years, it’s really important to me to support initiatives in this area of health services. I am especially proud to give back to these organizations like Peterborough Youth Services and YES Shelter for Youth and Families who provide essential and valuable assistance in my hometown area of Peterborough.”
More than $200,000 has been raised through the annual Tebey Golf Classic since 2017.
“These funds help us to reduce wait times and to provide specialized services for children, youth and families,” said Gord Langill, executive director, Peterborough Youth Services. “Mental-health issues are affecting more people in more complex ways, and resources are limited, so every dollar makes a difference.”
“The Tebey Golf Classic … has become crucial to the support provided to young people and families struggling severely with their mental health while experiencing homelessness in Peterborough,” said Aimeé Le Lagadec, executive director, YES Shelter for Youth and Families.
