Downtown Farmers Market moves outside

- NAOMI STOCK NAOMI STOCK IS A FREELANCE CONTRIBUTOR FOR THE EXAMINER.

The Peterborough Downtown Farmers Market has moved outside for the season and returns to Quaker Foods Park, at the corner of Charlotte and Aylmer streets, until Oct. 30. The market runs Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and features seasonal produce, meats, cheese, fresh flowers, plants, baked goods and prepared foods.

According to its mission statement, the market provides an opportunity to “buy directly from the farmer who grew it, raised it, harvested, or foraged it!”. Sixty per cent of market vendors are primary producers who grow everything they sell. The remaining 40 per cent of vendors include bakers, prepared food vendors, artists, musicians and community groups.

For information on the market, including on vendors, visit ptboregionalfarmersmarket.org or call 705-931-4371.
