- METROLAND STAFF

Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 75-yearold Trent Hills man in relation to an alleged historical sexual offence dating back more than 50 years.

The investigation began in February after the incident was reported to police.

Police say the incident is alleged to have occurred between 1972 and 1975 while the alleged victim, who was 14 years old at the time, was in the care of a group home and placed to live in the care of the accused.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested the man and charged him with sexual intercourse with a female under 14 years of age.

He is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
