6 Cosmetic Features That Shouldn’t Influence Your Home Buying Decision

The Prince George Citizen - The Citizen - Real Estate Weekly - - Real Estate Weekly -

We all have an image of our dream home, complete with stunning decor and awesome appliances, but it doesn’t take long to realize that dreams don’t always come true. Compromise is key when it comes to house hunting and some things on your wish list may have to be neglected.

Typically, cosmetic features shouldn’t dictate your choice when buying a home. It’s more important to buy a home that is structurally sound, meets all your needs and is in a great location, than to have the right colour paint on the walls.

A good rule of thumb is to think about what you can easily change yourself in the future for an affordable price. While you might dearly wish for granite countertops, they can be added at any time in the future. On the other hand, fixing outdated wiring or leaky roofs are far more difficult and expensive.
