Typically, cosmetic features shouldn’t dictate your choice when buying a home. It’s more important to buy a home that is structurally sound, meets all your needs and is in a great location, than to have the right colour paint on the walls.
A good rule of thumb is to think about what you can easily change yourself in the future for an affordable price. While you might dearly wish for granite countertops, they can be added at any time in the future. On the other hand, fixing outdated wiring or leaky roofs are far more difficult and expensive.
