Cheslatta Nation members not linked to animal abuse story

-

We have been dealing with news agencies all day Thursday trying to clarify that Cheslatta is an area and is not our nation.

This horrific story has caused a lot of grief for our members, as they were getting calls asking which Cheslatta Carrier Nation members were abusing animals.

Please be clear that this individual is non-native and is not associated with the Cheslatta Carrier Nation.

In fact, no Cheslatta members even live in the community of Cheslatta, which is a rural area south of Takysie Lake. For your information, there are many community areas on the south side, including Southbank, Danskin, Uncha, Grassy Plains, Tatalrose, Cheslatta, Ootsa Lake, Wistaria, East Ootsa and Marilla.

Thank you for your time and we appreciate the work done by the various agencies to rescue these neglected animals. May they all find safe and loving homes.

During the years I was at UNBC taking history as an adult student, I was always encouraged by my professors to do investigative research when preparing a paper.

Perhaps it is different in high school, although with decent school libraries it should not be.

There are a plethora of dissenting opinions when it comes to history and it is not difficult for an inquiring mind to find them.

The problem is not staid old politically correct history but a teaching approach that encourages finding dissenting opinions to stimulate thought and promote discussion.

Living through the present Trump presidency, plus what is happening worldwide, should mean there is no end of fascinating historical discussions and opinions in all our classrooms. Jeannette Paterson

Courtenay exercising, horseback riding and shows, outdoor skating oval, and soccer fields). Just the odour of all of the diesel fumes will do away with the fresh air aspect of these activities.

The thought of creating an industrial use adjacent to this area is very disturbing. This is a recreational area. It should not become an industrial area.

Why are you even considering relocating an industrial business from an industrial park to a nonindustrial area? It is absurd. Gina Beddome Prince George
