Heat cap­tures ringette sil­ver in Langey

Although tech­ni­cally this is still fall, the Prince Ge­orge Cen­tral In­te­rior Cater­ing and Con­sult­ing un­der-14 Heat didn’t mind get­ting the jump on the cold­est sea­son of the year.

The Heat cap­tured the sil­ver medal at the Sprit of Win­ter ringette tour­na­ment over the week­end in Lan­g­ley.

Coached by Keith Sul­li­van, the dou­bleA Heat ad­vanced to the gold medal game Sun­day af­ter tour­na­ment wins over West Kelowna (14-1) Port Co­quit­lam (5-2) and Rich­mond (8-1) and a tie with Burn­aby (6-6).

In the cham­pi­onship game on Sun­day, Prince Ge­orge lost 7-3 to Ver­non.

Ar­wyn Fraser was a rock of sta­bil­ity in net for the Heat through­out the week­end.

Maya Trudel scored 15 goals in four games to stoke the Prince Ge­orge of­fence.

Brook­lyn Lank and Sarah Der­ouin each to­taled five goals in the four games, Madi­son Gra­ham, Sa­van­nah Boudreau and Abby Barter scored three each, and Ad­di­son Paul­son and Marisa Proc­tor also found the net for the Heat.

Prince Ge­orge Ringette As­so­ci­a­tion teams will be in Hous­ton this week­end for a tour­na­ment.
