It’s awards night
The red carpet will be rolled out tonight at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for the 19th Annual National Aboriginal Achievement Awards.
Hosted by former hockey star Theoren Fleury and Burnaby native and Arctic Air star Carmen Moore, the black-tie event celebrates 15 First Nation, Inuit and Metis Canadians for their work in the arts, their communities, government and the private sector.
The evening’s celebration will open with a classical piece led by conductor and composer Dustin Peters.
Also on the bill are award-winning singer/songwriters Chantal Kreviazuk and Derek Miller.
The awards will be broadcast on Global TV and Aboriginal Peoples Television Network on Friday, April 13.
