Mix a high roller

Sip a silky smooth concoction

- Micah Dew

This creative cocktail uses egg white, which changes the texture of the drink to make it silky and smooth. It’s combined with a smooth bourbon with rich, smoky oak notes and a liqueur with hints of orange. Grenadine complements the mix with a dash of colour and a sweet finish.

Millionaire

Ingredients

1.5 oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon 0.5 oz Triple Sec liqueur Dash of Grenadine 1 egg white

Method

Crack an egg into a shaker glass, tossing away the shell and yolk.

Pour Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Triple Sec and a dash of grenadine into the glass.

Shake without ice to mix ingredients and froth the egg white.

Add ice and shake to chill the mixture. Strain into a glass with new ice and garnish with a cherry.

Tips

Whenever you are using eggs, make use they are fresh.

Dry shaking (shaking without ice) allows the egg white to activate and create an appealing froth. Then the ice is introduced to chill the ingredients. Try using Jim Beam Red Stag instead of Maker’s Mark for an infusion of black cherry flavour.
