We’re setting off in new directions
Join us in the drive to focus on people and their stories in two fascinating industries
We’ll be Trucking on Tuesdays and Riding on Thursdays starting in early March when Driving goes five days a week in The Province.
Ian Harwood’s popular Truck Guy column makes the move on Tuesday, March 6, when he will expand his mandate to include more material on work trucks. In fact, the main thrust of this exciting and innovative new section will be to shine a bright light the trucking business — long haul and local delivery. It’s a vital part of our economy. That said, Trucking is not intended to be a business-oriented feature, but rather a lively, bright and informative look at the people who drive near and far and of interest to all of our readers.
We are currently searching the province for writers to seek out, and write, compelling human stories and offer fascinating insights into this vital business. If you are an experienced writer interested in this field, please put your name forward for consideration as a contributor.
On Thursday, March 8, Alexandra Straub, who already appears here Monday and Fridays will launch Riding as the key writer for our weekly exploration of life on two wheels. She will test ride the latest bikes, write about the motorcycle community and its events, cover safety issues and bring you the latest in biking fashion and accessories. Again, please let us know what you would like to see featured in the new section and tell Alexandra about upcoming events and rides.
Our Monday, Wednesday and Friday Driving sections will continue to deliver first class coverage of what’s new in the car world here and overseas. Later in the year, some additional writers will join the team and, along the way, we will bring you some exciting new series and contests with fabulous prizes attached.
If you have any ideas for Ian’s consideration please contact him at truckguy@customtruckpartsinc.com. For Alexandra, email her at shiftinggearsgirl@gmail.com.
