Common sense prevail
Congratulations on your wellwritten editorial on the oil-tanker issue. There are still too many Vancouver people who just don’t seem to understand that without resource industries, B.C. would be in danger becoming a poor province.
Every other country probably envies us for our abundant natural resources and would not hesitate to take advantage of them if they were available to them. There are just too many economic benefits connected to them to let these opportunities slip by.
That’s not to say that we should ignore tight environmental guidelines and safety regulations. Forecasting a tanker disaster is like forecasting an earthquake.
Let common sense prevail to the benefit of all people of B.C. and Canada.
