-

MONTREAL —The montreal impact and Toronto FC fought to a goalless draw in the first game of a home-and-away semifinal in the Amway Canadian Championship before a crowd of 13,405 at Olympic Stadium Wednesday night.

The Impact dominated play in the first half, but either missed the mark or were thwarted by Toronto goalkeeper Milos Kocic.

Kocic made a leaping save off Impact midfielder Lamar Neagle in the 25th minute, and another off a hard shot by Bernardo Corradi in the 35th minute.

TFC forward Reggie Lambe also headed a ball off the goal-line after a header by Montreal defender Shavar Thomas clearly had Kocic beaten.

The return leg will be played at BMO Field in Toronto next Wednesday. The winner faces the Vancouver Whitecaps or FC Edmonton in another two-game series May 16-23 for the Voyageurs Cup and a berth in the 2012-2013 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.
