Subban heads home
P.K. Subban is coming home. Larry Carriere, the Montreal Canadiens’ assistant general manager, revealed Tuesday night that Subban suffered a knee injury in an exhibition game against Switzerland Sunday. The Canadiens’ defenceman will be unable to play for Team Canada in the IIHF world championship that begins Friday in Helsinki. Subban was injured when he checked Switzerland’s Luca Sbisa in the first period. While Subban initiated the contact, he came out the worse for wear.
