B.C. man is charged with murder raps

-

A B.C. man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after two women with Alberta ties were found dead in a hotel in Barrie, Ont.

Police found Mark Dobson, 22, at the scene when they responded to a call from hotel staff at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Dobson had serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The victims were Helen Dorrington, 52, of Cold Lake, Alta., and Mary Hepburn, 32, who moved to Barrie from Cold Lake last summer.

Dobson moved from B.C. to Barrie last summer as well.

The two victims and Dobson were known to each other, according to a police spokeswoman, but she could not confirm what their relationship was.

Dobson is awake and in stable condition, but police wouldn’t say Thursday whether he was talking.
