The Donnelly Group welcomes Alvin Pillay as the newly appointed development chef. In his new role, Pillay will work in partnership with their roster of chefs on menu development as well as conducting cook and chef training. Pillay honed his skills as chef de partie at C Restaurant, Fuel Restaurant and in the kitchens of the renowned Le Bernardin, Aquavit and Gordon Ramsay New York.
Taxi welcomes Kevin Barclay as executive director of Taxi West in Vancouver. Formerly creative director with Calder Bateman in Edmonton, he brings experience with clients from all categories and has made a name for himself as one ofwestern Canada’s top creatives. He helped his agency win a No. 1 ranking as fastest growing agency in Strategy
Magazine, and increased the annual award count tenfold.
Sean Carter (left) and Ross Hales have left Hangar 18 to open their own graphic design firm: Carter Hales Design Lab Inc. Carter has won over 140 design awards from major North American design competitions, including the One Show, Communication Arts, Graphis, Lurzer’s Archive, Graphex, How and Newyork Festivals Advertising Awards. A faculty member at Capilano University’s design and illustration program, he sits on the board of directors of Vancouver’s Contemporary Art Gallery. Hales holds a degree in communications from Simon Fraser University, where his focus was design theory and contemporary media studies. He has also worked in boardrooms across Canada, consulting with organizations from all sectors, including B.C. Hydro, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, YVR, Boston Pizza, Pharmasave and Lions Gate Entertainment.
