1934 New York Americans obtained Lorne Carr from Syracuse (IAHL) in trade for Ron Martin.

1944 Boston’s Bill Cowley scored twice and added three assists and Herb Cain had a hat trick as the Bruins won 6-3, at Chicago.

1955 Rangers’ goaltender Gump Worsley recorded his 7th career shutout as New York won 3-0 at Toronto.

1955 Jean Beliveau scored four goals, including 3 during one power play in a span of : 44 in the second period. Canadiens won the game, 4-2 over Boston. After the season, the NHL changed the rules to end a minor power play after a goal was scored.

1959 Gordie Howe had a goal and an assist to top the 1,000 point mark (including the playoffs) in his 947th career game. It came in an 8-3 loss to the visiting Boston Bruins.

1970 St. Louis goalies Glenn Hall and Ernie Wakely shared a shutout in the Blues 2-0 win at Boston. Jim Roberts scored a goal and added an assist for the Blues.

1977 Mike Murphy became the 6th player in team history to score 100 goals with the L.A. Kings, in a 3-1 win over the Rangers, at the Forum.

1979 Michel Larocque recorded his 14th career shutout and Guy Lafleur scored twice as the Canadiens won 2-0 over the Capitals, at the Forum. The win improved the Canadiens’ alltime record against Washington to 34-0-2.

1983 Boston’s Tom Fergus scored his first career hat trick and added an assist as the Bruins won 10-4, at Montreal.

1983 Rangers and Nordiques set an NHL record for the fastest two goals at the start of a period by two teams (14 seconds). Andre Savard scored for Quebec at : 08 of the 3rd and Pierre Larouche replied for the Rangers at :14. NY tied 4-4 in Quebec City.

1988 Mats Naslund picked up three assists to record his 500th NHL career point, all with the Canadiens, as Montreal won 7-2 over the visiting Winnipeg Jets. Guy Carbonneau added two goals and two assists.

1989 Washington goalie Don Beaupre recorded his 5th career shutout, and Calle Johansson scored a goal and picked up an assist as the Capitals won 3-0 over the Nordiques, in Quebec City.

1991 Vancouver’s Geoff Courtnall scored his 200th NHL career goal in the Canucks’ 2-2 tie against the visiting Winnipeg Jets.

1991 Boston’s Vladimir Ruzicka scored his first career NHL hat trick and Andy Brickley had a goal and three assists as the Bruins tied 5-5 at Pittsburgh.

1993 Toronto sold veteran Mike Foligno to the Florida Panthers.

1993 Bob Kudelski scored his fourth career hat trick, including the game winner at 1:33 of overtime and rookie Alexei Yashin added four assists to lead the Senators to a 7-6 win over the Jets, at Winnipeg.

1997 Wendel Clark became the 8th player in franchise history to score 250 goals as a member of the Maple Leafs. The milestone came in a 4-3 Toronto win at Calgary.

1997 John MacLean became the first player to score 700 points as a member of the New Jersey Devils. The milestone came as an empty-net goal, in a 4-2 win over the Panthers, in Florida.

1999 Ron Francis picked up an assist to beome the sixth NHL player to score 1,500 NHL points in his NHL career. The milestone came in a 3-2 Hurricanes’ loss at Detroit.

2003 Scott Stevens had two assists to become just the 10th defenseman in NHL history to score 900 points, and Jamie Langenbrun­ner scored with 42.7 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Devils a 3-2 win cover the visiting San Jose Sharks.
