Cut the TransLink fat

-

Yes, you are absolutely correct in your editorial on B.C. Ferries and TransLink salaries. Any executive earning $ 400,000 to $ 500,000 annually does not need a bonus.

In fact, all these fat cats working for taxpayer-subsidized corporations should be ashamed to expect bonuses.

Bonuses should be based on profit and sales performance, and nothing else. If these executives can’t perform, get rid of them and hire people who can.

There must be hundreds of university graduates every year who would be happy to start at one third of these outrageous salaries.

And cut the fat. Paying $100,000 for TransLink ticket-checkers (called police) must be a joke, when $35,000 would be plenty.

The problem is today’s society seems to have this enormous entitlement idea for little work in their heads.

Furthermore, TransLink and ICBC are nothing more than monopolies. We have no choice and have to deal with them. Maybe they should be happy that they have high-paying jobs.
