LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIP ‘GRATEFUL TO BE IN A POSITION TO TRULY GIVE

-

C ars bring joy to people. It’s a fact. Just ask the owner of a new or even used vehicle.

Chances are, that person or persons are really excited about their acquisition. They should be!

It’s the second largest purchase an individual or family makes, aside from buying a home.

Bringing joy to people via car sales is just one way that Maple Ridge Chrysler supports the well being of a community.

Founded in 1972, the dealership which now sells Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Fiat products has been actively involved in fulfilling transportation needs in the community and beyond.

It’s also their mantra to deliver exceptional customer service in addition to offering BC’s largest inventory on Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and Fiat products.

Serving those in need

With 150 team members working to get you into your perfect car, that’s just one way they make it easy for you to find your dream ride.

Not to mention, through Maple Ridge Chrysler, you can also buy your vehicle online; over 25 percent of the cars and trucks are sold that way.

Together with serving the community in regards to transportation needs, they also serve those in the community who are in need of additional love and support.

That support comes through their active involvement in community service.

Whether it’s sponsoring golf tournaments, contributing monetarily or donating vehicles, Maple Ridge Chrysler has an energetic hand in the community’s charitable scene.

A particularly fun event they’re involved in is the annual Rotary Duck Race in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge.

For those not familiar with this fundraiser, think thousands of yellow ducks floating down a river. Rubber ducks! The same kind you might just come across in your bathtub.

Individuals buy these ducks in hopes that theirs will cross the finish line first and win a Fiat; a vehicle that the dealership has been donating for the past few years

They’ve also supplied the Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue with a new three-quarter tonne truck to pull their rescue boat this year.

Along with vehicular donations, the staff at the dealership are also excited to donate their time and their athletic abilities!

One of the largest events Maple Ridge Chrysler has participated in is the Exile Island for the Children’s wish foundation. What is Exile Island? According to the event’s website, “Each year, The Children’s Wish Foundation challenges 10 local businesses to gather their tribes and take part in an action packed afternoon of fun and friendly competition all in a united effort to grant 10 heartfelt wishes. Modeled after the popular television show “Survivor”, tribes are banished to “Exile Island” to compete in a series of mental, physical, creative and strategic challenges, battling head-to-head to win the title of “British Columbia’s Ultimate Survivors”! Each tribe will be paired with a local Wish Child who will cheer them on and inspire these brave competitors to raise important funds to Create the Magic of a Wish!”

AJ Hurford, marketing manager at Maple Ridge Chrysler says, “It’s similar to a sports day in elementary school. A really fun one. And at the end of the day, we raise money for charity.”

Not only is it a great way Maple Ridge Chrysler can be involved in the community, it’s a great way to team build.

Supporting community

Though, the dealership contributes more than just once a year since the giving doesn’t stop there.

Toy and food drives are nothing new to the dealership, nor is supporting the Canucks Autism Network.

“There’s always something going on, which is really great, ” mentions Hurford.

“We try to challenge everyone at work to jump on board, whatever the event, which then motivates the rest of the team.”

He mentions that many of the staff are affiliated with charitable organizations on their own ie; Charlene Reaveley Charity Toy Drive, bringing even more enthusiasm to the fold.

When asked what the best part about the dealership’s charity work is, Hurford pauses. It’s a tough question to answer since there are so many benefits.

He explains, “We are very grateful to be in a position to truly give back.”

“And the looks on people’s faces when you can really help them out, and knowing you helped make a difference in someones life, makes it all worth it.”
