What we learned

-

Sometimes when a game looks like it’s going to be a dog, it’s exactly what you get.

Arriving in Vancouver, the Flames were desperate for a win, while the Canucks’ entertainment value has been in a freefall for two weeks.

The Canucks seem to have given up on their pre-season vow they’d be an attacking team.

Sure, they piled up more than 35 shots Saturday, but far too many of those shots came from the outside.

The Flames were more than willing to push the Canucks to the perimeter, nursing a one-goal lead all game.

It made the Canucks look like they were trying to hit three-pointers. Put it another way ... they looked like it was last season.
