Son sought after mom found dead in home
Police say 62-year-old woman met with foul play, seeking public’s help
A 38-year-old man is being sought by homicide investigators after his 62-year-old mother was found dead in a Richmond home this week.
Redelma Belisario was found dead by family members in a residence in the 11000-block of Woodhead Road Tuesday afternoon. Her family then called Richmond RCMP to the scene.
“While an autopsy will be required to confirm cause of death, it is believed the victim met with foul play,” said IHIT spokeswoman Sgt. Stephanie Ashton in a news release Wednesday.
She said investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating her 38-year-old son, Darwin Lescano, who is a suspect in her death.
“It is the priority of IHIT to locate Mr. Lescano,” said Ashton. “We are asking that anyone who knows where Mr. Lescano may be or if you see him that you call police immediately. Do not approach him.”
According to online court records, a man with the same name and birth year as Lescano was convicted of arson in Richmond in 2009.
