Comets streak into conference final

Jacob Markstrom stopped 35 shots and the Utica Comets, the Vancouver Canucks’ farm team in the American Hockey League, defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Barons 1-0 Wednesday night to advance to the Western Conference final.

Alex Grenier scored the game’s only goal at 7:11 of the third period as Utica won the series 4-3.

The Comets next play Grand Rapids (Michigan) for the West title, starting Sunday in Utica, N.Y.

Hartford and Manchester are playing for Eastern crown.
