Bester wins Futures title
North Vancouver’s Philip Bester beat Ontario’s Brayden Schnur in the final of the $15,000 Richmond Country Club Futures tennis tournament.
Bester, 26, beat the 19-year-old Schnur 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4). The two move on to this week’s Kelowna Futures. Schnur, a University of North Carolina student, won the NCAA’s national indoor championship in 2014.
Both players will represent Canada at the upcoming Pan-Am Games in Toronto.
