Blue Jays’ elite bats fuelled scorefest in season’s first half

The Toronto Blue Jays have forged their record chiefly on the back of their offence as they lead the major leagues in runs scored with 498.

Along the way, they have recorded 36 innings in which they have scored four or more runs and 19 innings where they have scored five or more runs.

They have also had 16 games in which they have scored 10 or more runs.

Leading the charge for the Jays are a number of players as Jose Bautista is tied for the American League lead in RBI with 63, while Josh Donaldson is third with 62. With 54 RBI, Edwin Encarnacio­n is tied for 11th.

In home runs, Donaldson is fifth with 22, while Bautista has slugged 19 and is tied for ninth. Encarnacio­n has 18 home runs and is tied for 14th.
