INJURIES

LIONS: After debating if T.J. Lee or Cord Parks would take a spot in the secondary, it was determined both will play and CB Steven Clarke will be out. B.C. also moved WR LaVell Hawkins, who worked out lightly this week, to the onegame injured list.

TICATS: Hamilton will be without WRs Andy Fantuz, Bakari Grant and S Craig Butler and also may elect to reactivate RB Nic Grigsby, cut earlier this season.

TEDFORD NAMED IN SUIT

B.C. Lions coach Jeff Tedford has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit dating back to his days as head of the University of California football program. The suit was filed by a former player alleging medical malpractice surrounding the prevention and treatment of concussions. The lawsuit filed Aug. 3 by Bernard Hicks, who suffered multiple concussions while playing for the Golden Bears from 2004 to 2008, claims the school was negligent in not taking the steps necessary to prevent head injuries. A statement issued by the university did not address the specifics of the case but defended its concussion protocol practices. Also named in the suit in addition to Tedford, who coached at Cal for 12 seasons, were the team physician and head trainer.

Since firing George Cortez — who joined the Lions as offensive co-ordinator — the Ticats have totally transformed, and are on the way to the biggest franchise turnaround in three-down football. Lowell Ullrich caught up with Cortez, and you can read the results online at
