Swedish star done
HELSINKI — If Sweden wins a medal at the world junior championship, it will be without the help of William Nylander.
The team officially announced Sunday the Toronto Maple Leafs prospect’s tournament is over. While Sweden had been hoping Nylander would be able to return from a suspected head injury he suffered in an opening game against Switzerland, team doctors have decided to shut him down and send him back to his NHL team.
Sweden is scheduled to face host Finland in one of the semifinals Monday, while the U.S. and Russia square off in the other game.
