Distracted driving targeted

B.C.’s superintendent of motor vehicles says tougher penalties are on the way for those violating distracteddriving laws.

Sam McLeod says the province will announce tougher consequences for distracted driving in early May.

McLeod says there’s a recognition that the fines are too low in the province, and distracted driving is the No. 2 cause of fatal crashes.
