Kiwi Anscombe named coach of Team Canada

Rugby Canada has named New Zealand’s Mark Anscombe head coach of the Canadian men’s national team.

Anscombe, 59, succeeds fellow Kiwi Kieran Crowley, who resigned in January to take over Italian club side Benetton Treviso.

Anscombe, most recently with club team Ulster, led New Zealand to victory at the IRB Junior World Championsh­ips in 2011.

Canada is currently ranked 18th in the world.
