Royal children are coming to Canada

- PETER DARBYSHIRE

The royal couple William and Kate will be bringing their kids on their September visit to Canada, which will include some family time in the great outdoors of B.C.

Three-year-old Prince George and his year-old sister Princess Charlotte are definitely part of the travel plans, said a Canadian source in a Royal Watch column published this week on Vanity Fair’s website.

“They really can’t bear the idea of leaving Charlotte and George at home,” a source told vanityfair.com. “Arrangements and logistics are being made for them to travel as a family and the flights have all been booked.”

British Columbia and Yukon are part of the travel plans, the source said.

“There will be a heavy focus on nature, the outdoors and there will be at least one private day factored into the trip,” a Canadian source told Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl.

“We’re hearing hiking, walking and outdoor pursuits will feature while the family is in British Columbia. There’s talk of going into the centre (B.C. interior) where there are freshwater lakes and great kayaking.”

Dates and details of the itinerary have not yet been released by Kensington Palace, as travel plans are still being coordinated between the couple and the Department of Canadian Heritage.

This will be the second visit for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to the country.
