Madonna romance rumours not in vogue with Elba
Idris Elba is a real renaissance man.
Elba, 44, is a critically acclaimed actor who starred in The Wire and Luther, the latest Star Trek film, the Thor movies, the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series and was rumoured to be the next James Bond front-runner before $150 million was dangled in front of Daniel Craig.
He’s a DJ and musician. He’s collaborated on a fashion line with the label Superdry.
If that wasn’t enough, he has also been training as a kick-boxer for a new documentary series called Idris Elba: The Fighter and he recently won his first match.
Oh yes, he also may be a little more than casual friends with pop superstar Madonna.
The rumour started spreading on social media after Elba’s fight in London over the weekend, when Madonna posted a video of the fight on her Instagram account.
The Daily Mail reported Elba and Madonna were seen passionately embracing at a post-fight party, with one source saying “they would dance, go off to smooch, then mingle a bit more.”
On her Snapchat account, the singer posted a selfie of her and Elba lying on the floor with the caption “I kicked his butt.”
On Monday morning, Elba addressed the rumours in a tweet to his nearly two million followers: “Am I sleeping with Madonna? No motherf---ers … ‘Don’t believe the Hype.’ ”
Elba, who spent time in Vancouver last year filming Star Trek Beyond, returns to B.C. next month to begin production on The Mountain Between Us with Kate Winslet. The film, based on the novel by Charles Martin, tells the story of two strangers who survive a plane crash in the mountains.
