Lucky to be Canadian

Re: Trump is the lesser evil, Letters, Nov. 22 Reading Frank Wirrell’s letter makes me feel very lucky that Canada is a secular country that’s tolerant, compassionate and inclusive.

Everybody is equal and they can marry who they love.

Women control their own bodies and don’t have to be obedient to anybody.

We have freedom of religion, but just as important, freedom from religion.

With so many religions, all believing theirs is the only true one and vying for prominence, living in a secular democracy is the only way. — Alan Halliday, Richmond
