Fleeing driver gets 15 tickets instead of 1
A 20-year-old Delta man who twice within a few days failed to stop for police has been issued 15 tickets instead of just one.
RCMP ‘E’ Division spokeswoman Sgt. Annie Linteau said Wednesday that on Nov. 17, officers tried to stop a Lexus on the Alex Fraser Bridge.
The driver fled and police took the licence plate, but didn’t pursue because of safety concerns.
Police later noticed a similar vehicle with a different licence plate had fled from the same location a few days earlier. An investigation showed both plates came back to the same vehicle identification number and owner.
The owner was issued 11 tickets for the second incident worth $1,689, plus points. Four additional tickets worth $754 were issued for the first incident.
