While shoppers across Canada are jumping on the Black Friday frenzy — set to be followed by a Cyber Monday shopping spree — in British Columbia, we’re a tad more cautious.

We’re counting our cyber shopping dollars, protecting our data and most of us are reluctant to spill personal details on social media that could see us become the victims of fraud and ID theft.

Here’s a snapshot of our shopping plans, from Black Friday through Cyber Monday and the holiday season:

$100-$150

Our shopping budget. Most Canadians plan to spend about $350 on Black Friday, but thrifty British Columbians plan to spend half that, according to shopbot.ca.

The percentage of B.C. shoppers who plan to spend at least as much or more on holiday shopping this year than last.

The percentage of British Columbians who suffer buyer’s remorse when their holiday credit card bill arrives. This compares to 20.5 per cent of people across the country who regret their holiday shopping sprees.
