NFL playoff seeding scenarios for both conference­s, heading into Sunday’s final day of regular-season games:

AFC

No. 1 seed and first-round bye New England (if it wins or ties; or if Oakland loses or ties). Oakland (if it wins and New England loses).

No. 2 seed and first-round bye Oakland (if it wins or ties and New England wins or ties; or if it loses but Kansas City loses, too). New England (if it loses and Oakland wins). Kansas City (if it wins and Oakland loses).

No. 3 seed, and first-round playoff host Pittsburgh already has clinched this seed.

No. 4 seed, and first-round playoff host Houston already has clinched this seed.

No. 5 seed as wild card, at No. 4 next week Kansas City (if it wins and Oakland wins or ties). Miami (if it wins and Kansas City loses).

No. 6 seed as wild card, at No. 3 next week Miami (if it loses or ties; or if Kansas City wins or ties).

NFC

No. 1 seed and first-round bye Dallas already has clinched this seed.

No. 2 seed and first-round bye

Atlanta (if it wins; or if it ties and Seattle loses or ties; or if it loses but either Seattle loses and Detroit loses or ties, or Seattle ties and Detroit loses).

Seattle (if it wins and Atlanta loses or ties; or if it ties and Atlanta loses and Green Bay-Detroit ends in a tie).
