What it is: A semi-permanent colour solution for brows and lashes.

This tinting kit provides easy, at-home application of colour that lasts up to six weeks and is smudge proof and water resistant. Available in four hair-matching shades including Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Brown and Black.

The two-step process requires application of a colour gel and a developer gel and includes an application stick and tinting brush. The entire process is slated to take less than five minutes from start to finish. Each kit has eight tinting applications.

Our tester was a tad timid when presented with the idea of putting semi-permanent dye anywhere on her face without professional assistance. But after a quick look through the included instruction booklet, she began to feel a bit more at ease.

The kit provides pretty much all the tools you’ll need to tone your brows and lashes, except for cotton swabs and cotton pads for removal, etc. The easy-to-follow application tips take all the intimidation out of the experience. As does the fact the entire process takes less time than it does to call for an appointment at a pricey tinting shop.

We tested this product on two sets of brows — one set thick with a few patches and one thin and sparse — and were impressed with the results. Our brunette testers both tried the Medium Brown shade on their dark brown eyebrows and were pleased with the way it blended seamlessly with natural brow hair, while also adding a touch of dimension.

Fears of finishing the tinting with brown-tinted patches of skin were unfounded. The formula seems to cling to hairs rather than skin, leaving behind clean colour that doesn’t seem to attach to any other surfaces.
