Homebuyer Forum set for next week
Anyone looking for assistance in navigating the homebuying process may want to reserve some time on March 7, when the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association holds its annual Homebuyer Forum.
The event, presented by B.C. Housing, takes place from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at SFU Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver.
“The Homebuyer Forum is an informative and interactive evening for first-time homebuyers, parents helping their children get into a home, and homeowners looking to downsize or those new to Vancou- ver,” says a prepared release from the GVHBA.
“Covering topics such as up-and-coming neighbourhoods, rent-to-own options, buying presales direct from developers, leveraging the bank of Mom and Dad and navigating the world of strata, this forum will provide future homeowners both strategic and tactical tips on how to buy into the Metro Vancouver market.”
Association CEO Bob de Wit notes in the release that many new developments continue to sell out in the pre-sale stage. “When it comes to buying in Vancouver, using tactical strategies is the only way to enter the market,” de Wit says.
“Understanding this market and learning how to leverage the resources around you, in what continues to be a very strong seller’s market will help prospective homeowners achieve their end goal: owning a home.”
The Homebuyer Forum is free for attendees and will be streamed live. However, both options require pre-registering at gvhba.org/homebuyer-forum.
