Clarins Extra-Firming Day and Night creams for All Skin Types
What it is: Two new face creams (sold separately) from the skincare and beauty brand Clarins, these day-and-night treatment options promise to boost skin’s “youthfulness” and “visibly reduce” wrinkles.
The day-and-night options come in two variations — all skin types and dry skin — to best suit hydration needs.
The Extra-Firming Day Cream, which is specifically formulated for women in their 40s, promises to improve skin’s overall appearance of “youthfulness” using the power of Kangaroo flower. The daily cream also helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve facial contours for a “sculpted” appearance.
The Extra-Firming Night Cream works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles — while you catch some Zs. Drawing from the benefits of the main ingredient, Kangaroo flower, the rich cream promises to smooth skin and even out complexion.
What we say: Our tester tried these two creams, worn day and night as instructed, for several weeks.
The day cream, applied in the morning to the face and neck, had a pleasant scent and a creamy consistency. A small amount was all it took for a nice, even coverage. The cream absorbs quite quickly, feels comfortable on the face and stays that way all day without getting greasy.
Applied in evening, again, to the face and neck, our tester found the night cream to be a thicker, richer (and therefore, slightly heavier) version of its daytime counterpart. Given the thicker formula, absorption was slower, and there was a residue that remained until the morning.
With both face creams our tester reported she noticed a quick improvement to her skin, noting improved hydration and a slight reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The only negative that she reported was the lack of a spatula for easier removal of the creams from the container. So, a finger had to be used.
