Spice Girl has ‘best day’ at royal wedding

Fashion designer/former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her husband, David Beckham, were among the celebrity attendees at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the newly named Duke Duchess of Sussex, which took place last Saturday.

The A-list couple were also present at the nuptials of Harry’s brother, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in 2011, when Victoria was pregnant her now six-year-old daughter, Harper.

“Quite honestly, it was such a relief not to be hugely pregnant at this royal wedding that it was a joy to be able to choose anything I wanted to wear,” the 44-year-old told the London Evening Standard, going on to address the similarities between the two dark dresses she wore to the weddings.

“I love a bit of navy,” she said. “The dress is one of my favourites: It isn’t in (her own) store until November, but we’ve had so many inquiries about it that I’m seeing whether I can bring it forward.”

She had “the best day” celebrating with the happy couple, and spoke particularly highly of the bride.

“They looked so happy, and everybody was just so happy for them,” she said. “Meghan seems like a genuinely lovely woman, who really loves him. It felt very real, very honest.”

And while she is glad she isn’t carrying baby number five, she’s happy to see that her four children have adopted their parents’ work ethic.

“It’s never been an option not to work hard,” she said. “They see mommy go to work, they see daddy go to work, and they go to school and they have to work. But at the same time they’re happy children.”
