WWE star really wants Shania Twain to sing a certain song

- — Eddie Chau

WWE superstar Kevin Owens loves Shania Twain’s song When.

The former WWE Universal Champion loves the song so much that he wants the Timmins, Ont., crooner to sing it when her 2018 Now Tour makes a stop at the Bell Centre in Montreal on June 26.

Owens — real name Kevin Steen — recently reactivated his Twitter account after a brief social media vacation. The Marieville, Que., native noted in his Twitter bio that he got verified again “so that I can beg Shania Twain to play my favourite song When at her concert this summer in Montreal because I’ll be there.”

“I’m serious,” Owens ended his bio.

The sports-entertainer

reemphasized his love for the 1998 hit song in a tweet Tuesday morning.

“Hello @Shania Twain! I’m Kevin. I’m a @WWE wrestler and fellow Canadian,” Owens wrote in a now deleted tweet. “I had quite a rough couple of days. I was thrown off a very tall ladder by an awful man. I’m really hurting ... What would make me feel better is hearing you sing When at your concert in Montreal tonight.”

On Sunday, Owens took quite the tumble after being shoved off a ladder by fellow grappler Braun Strowman and crashing through a table during WWE’s

event in Chicago, Ill.

The fall must have affected Owens’ memory as he quickly deleted his tweet after realizing the Twain concert is the following Tuesday.

“Oh man! The @ ShaniaTwin concert is next Tuesday. Not tonight...Now, I’m super bummed,”

Owens tweeted, correcting himself. “Oh well! One more week to beg her to play it!”

“Maybe that fall off that giant ladder did more damage than I thought,” he later tweeted with a sad face emoji. In another now-deleted tweet, Owens warned Twain she may be “bombarded” by WWE fans asking her to sing the song at her concert. He noted his “awesome wife” Karina Steen surprised him with the concert tickets.

Twain has not publically replied to Owens’ song request. Her tour kicks off June 25 in Ottawa, Ont.
