How can public vote for PR if the minister doesn’t get it?
The electoral-reform debate is well underway, with established parties spinning their cause to the voting public. Just this past Saturday, Advanced Education Minister Melanie Mark, who has a bachelor’s degree in political science, admitted while out promoting proportional representation that she doesn’t understand the different systems voters are being asked to choose.
How can a representative of the current government be out promoting something she clearly does not understand? In her defence, the voter’s guide from Elections B.C. is poorly written and convoluted at best.
Personally, I find it difficult to vote for something our current politicians find difficult to understand but are promoting. Who would choose to sign a blank cheque?
