Caps need new management
When the Whitecaps fired their head coach with five games left in the season, most fans must have thought that ownership had a replacement lined up to make a run at the playoffs. Instead, they took the usual cheap option and appointed their youth coach. Failure inevitably followed.
This was a betrayal of season-ticket holders and the general fan base. We have witnessed all of our major rivals — Seattle, Portland and Toronto — win championships while we struggle even to make the playoffs. Responsibility must rest with the executives, not the coach. While I thank him for his service, it is time for team president Bob Lenarduzzi to step aside.
I will not be renewing my season ticket until there is a change in management.
